Cold Pizza

GMan is quite a capable kid.
As mentioned before
when he gets up early,
and I do not
(which, let's face it, is everyday)
he takes care of himself.
The most recent thing
is his willingness
to scrounge for a snack until breakfast
or just eat dry cereal for breakfast.
Well today he had other plans.

Last night we had pizza.
I put it away in the fridge,
on the bottom shelf
because
it was the only available shelf.
No biggie.
Until Little Man goes scrounging in the morning.
I walk out to this.

He was so pleased with himself
for finding cold pizza for breakfast
that I just laughed and relished in his delight.

Carrying On

The kids are still sick
and we have not left our house
in 4 days.
That promotes an air
of creativity
for a bored toddler.
I was in the office
(incidentally typing up a blog post)
and I hear commotion
come around the corner.
Miss L was laughing hysterically
GMan was shouting
"Mom look!
I am holding her
under her arm pits!
and beaming with pride
(he has been trying to
lift her up by her hands
so it's a lesson
we've been working on.)
Now I will just need
to make sure
that no one
ends up hurt
as we try to grow up.

Stubborn

Since Miss L
learned to sit up
she stopped napping.
For days
she would be in bed
(for hours)
but would never go to sleep.
Now
she's so exhausted
but still stubborn
that she is falling asleep,
or mostly asleep,
sitting up
and then
falling over.
Seriously,
I don't know
who she gets this from.

Pillow Fight

When your 3 year old
is standing on the table
yelling and kicking the pillows off
what does he tell you he's doing?
Having a
"Pillow Fight"
Get it?
He's fighting the pillows!

and of course
you have to
do it all over again.

Apparently, we need a dog

Baby girl loves to eat
but she is quite picky
about the food she will eat
and how she will eat it.
She will eat oranges, pears and peaches
anytime.
but those are like dessert.
Carrots and green beans will get eaten
as long as I don't cut them up.
She wants to hold the whole steamed carrot
or green bean
and take bites.
Fine, whatever.
Other foods like broccoli and tomatoes
are looked at
and then snubbed.
Well,
today I was feeding her
whole green beans
and she was eating.
After eating most of them,
she decided she was done.
Instead of waiting for me
to come clear her tray,
I found her hiding her green beans,
on her high chair.
Apparently
we need a dog,
to throw our food to.

Enjoying her food. Yum!
Look closely above her hand.
Yup, I watched her
purposely place that green bean
and then reach for another
to hide.
Close up.

Never letting go

This girl cracks me up.
Recently,
she puts things in her mouth
let's go with her hands
and holds them there in her mouth.
For a really long time.
(See previous french fries post)
This bottle was in her mouth
for 10 minutes before her bath,
through the entire bath,
getting dressed,
and 15 minutes after.
I am pretty sure she let go
only because she wanted her bottle.
She is going to have some
serious jaw muscles

Sickos

I HATE this winter.
We seem to be sick
All of the time.
I blame school.
This is the first year
That G has gone to preschool
and now our family
is a walking petri dish.
It only took me
almost
3 1/2 years
but my kid finally learned
to cough into his elbow.
Yeah!
It didn't prevent
his sister from getting his disease
But I am pretty sure
that's because
they are attached at the hip
whenever they are home
and awake.
At least he's sharing,
right?
We have also entered
that awkward smiling face stage.
Fantastic.
No one look at his face
in family photos
for the next few years. :)
Funny face or not
we still love this kid!
