Where'd he go?

I had to take this picture before the Little Man got too much bigger. I love that his pacifier is half the size of his face. I wish that I has taken it when he was smaller because everything from his nose down disappeared behind green plastic. This still gives you an idea of how huge the plug is and how small his face is. :)

ps - I couldn't get him to stop staring at me long enough to take the picture. I didn't mind and you still get the idea. ;)

Big Red

This is the best seat in the house. Grandma bought this chair for us while she was in town so that I wouldn't have to use the computer chair anymore for night feedings. The Little Man knows that when I sit in this chair it means he is going to be fed or put to sleep. Either way this is his favorite seat in the house (mine too for that matter).
Even when he's eating the kid loves to stare at the back of the chair, maybe his favorite color will be burgundy.

Passed Out!

For the last couple of days this has become the Little Man's favorite sleeping position. It is also how we know when he's passed out cold. If he is sleeping with his head bent toward me he is not quite asleep and he will wake up if I put him down. Ah the wonderful tricks us moms learn as we go along.

This is what he looks like from above. Poor kid, when he sleeps like this mom gives him lots and lots of kisses. (I also get the boogers out of his nose, I'm not sure which one is worse for him.)

ps - The Little Man has also started not sleeping during the day unless I'm holding him. Any ideas on how to remedy that? As much as I love cuddling with him it would be nice to fold an entire load of laundry without him screaming at me. Thanks!

Goodbye Grandma

Wednesday was a sad day because we had to see our grandma leave.

She was so great to have here and The Little Man loved cuddling with her. We appreciated having her help with everything over the last month. The meals were delicious, the groceries were welcome and it was great to not do dishes for four weeks. Thanks so much grandma for taking care of us!

Happy First Month Birthday!

Today is the day that we celebrate the first month of the Little Man's life. Does it seem like it went by really fast for anyone else? I haven't even called back half of the people who called while I was in the hospital. Biggest apologies to Jamie, Ellen, Jenna and Court, I am still working on it.
In honor of the big day we took the kid to church. Woo hoo!!! Matt suggested making a cake but I didn't have a cake mix in a box and I wasn't going to make one from scratch. Instead we didn't really do anything special at all, oh well.
Photo shoot with dad. Please note that there is an actual backdrop, yeah we're professional.

He's working on not laughing while ignoring dad's plea to look at the camera.

Bath time, he's not sure if he likes being naked.

Just kidding, who doesn't love it!

The First of Many

Today was the first of what will probably be lots of hard days for the Little Man. We're not sure what is exactly wrong but we do know that he is not feeling very good. I think his tummy is hurting him but his cries sound extremely similar so I have a hard time distinguishing between my tummy hurts because I'm sick and I am just hungry, go figure.
This is him snuggling with his grandma during one of the few naps he took today, poor kid.

Christmas in August- again, a little late

We got to have Christmas in August this year. Feel free to be a little jealous, who wouldn't want great presents for no apparent reason in the middle of the summer?
First, we got the Little Man, this is him at 3 weeks. I love this face, it's kinda like he's asking you what the heck are you doing? He does it a lot so you will all probably see more photos like this because it just makes me laugh.
Here are a couple more from our photo shoot, sorry, I can't figure out how to rotate them right now. Isn't he getting the cutest little chubby cheeks?

The day after we got our Little Man, the furniture company called and our couch came in a month early, Happy Birthday to us! It's really my Christmas present from last Christmas, it just took me 8 months to decide what I wanted. Thank goodness for voice mail and cell phones or we probably wouldn't have known it was here until we got home from the hospital.

Finally, a couple days after the couch came, The Man's baby arrived at the door brought by the electronics stork. This is the magical tv in all of it's 56" of magnificence. I think it's ridiculously too large but the men who come over seem to think it's awesome. The Man was in heaven the day it arrived, you should have seen the smile on his face. I'm not sure if he was happier when his electronic baby came or when his real child came. I hope the real baby doesn't ruin it when he becomes mobile. We shall wait and see.

Two week update - a little late

So we went to the doctor for The Little Man's two week checkup and the kid sure knows how to grow. He gained a whole pound in the first two weeks of life, none of this just trying to get back to his birth weight stuff. He also grew a half inch, way to go big guy! He is still only in the 15% for weight and the 50% for height. I will tell you he is definitely making up ground in both areas, photos to come.
There's nothing like a Saturday afternoon nap with dad.

A hint of a smile, is it gas or is it thoughts of the best mom ever? hmmmm

Passed out cold, who would have thought that a rock hard chiseled chest would be comfortable.
