Yea for Baby Sadie
Our newest neice, Baby Sadie, was born on Wednesday. I am actually here watching the other kids which is why I haven't blogged a whole lot. She is a beautilful little girl. I forgot my camera so you'll all have to take my word for it. :) Jamie was awesome and trust me, she is super mom. Birth Wednesday, home Thursday, getting her boys off to school on Friday. I should buy her a red cape.

Big Boy
First, a shout out to my dad who's birthday is today! Even though it was a joyous day we still had to go to the doctor for the belated 9 month check up. Gman, as always, was an awesome kid. First, a little background. My baby has had a fever for the last 11 days. Usually by the end of the day he is around 102 degrees. We went to the doctor last Friday and they thought he was getting an ear infection and prescribed an antibiotic. His fever spiked on Monday night at 103.6 so we called the doctor Tuesday and they got us right in. It was discovered that the drugs hadn't worked yet and the ear infection was worse. Since we were coming in today they wanted to give the medicine one more night to work and if it didn't they would give us a new prescription today. This morning his fever was already at 102.7 so it obviously wasn't working.
Phew, with that background I will continue on to today. We met with the doctor and GMan was so hilarious. He smiled, clapped and made her laugh. She couldn't believe that he was sick much less that his ear infection was actually worse than yesterday. Lucky for us there were no shots today. YEAH!!!
GMan was weighed and measured,
Weight - 20.5 pounds 50th percentile
Height - 30.5 inches 95th percentile
Head - 17.75 inches 80th percentile
Weight and height percentages are the same and his head is getting larger. Go figure, he is definitely my child.
Anyway, life is fantastic. Hopefully the ear infection and the fever will go away now that we have the new medicine. Jamie, note to you, the doctor says neither are contagious so I hope that you aren't worried that we are coming to visit this weekend.
Enjoy life, because when you stop looking it's been 11 days with a sick child who doesn't act sick and he is already 9 months old. :)

Magic trick
The Man and GMan have been doing this trick for awhile now but we thought we would document it for posterity sake. When GMan is upset this move is guaranteed to make him smile. He has even gone from screaming to laughing in 2 seconds when The Man has held him like this. For anyone related to me, do you remember dad doing this to us? I do, it was always something cool that only dad would do. It was "his thing".

9 Months Young
Thursday was GMans 9 month birthday. We don't go to the doctor until next week but I thought that everyone would like an update. He is still not mobile in any way, shape or form. He is perfectly content to sit and watch what is going on. While part of me is glad that he doesn't go anywhere, the other part of me would love it if he could crawl around so that he wouldn't be whinny when I walk away from him. This week he started clapping at things going on around him. We watched our friends Zach and Parker the other day and GMan was clapping and laughing while he watched them crawl around. He still makes everyone around him happy. The ladies at the gym child center can't get enough of him. His little smile is infectious. I guess one day he was sitting next to another little boy, Cayden, his age and GMan started to laugh at Cayden. When he finished laughing Cayden started laughing back. I was told they just went back and forth for 5-10 minutes. I wish I had seen it. He also got a new walker to cruise around in. He hasn't mastered the one foot in front of the other part yet but he moves around using both feet at the same time. Pretty silly to watch. He winds up and then lunges forward likes he trying to take off. I wonder if having a walker is messing him up or helping his mobility level. Who knows? Anyway, here are some pictures we took recently, the kid is getting huge and we will know exactly how much come next Wednesday. Hope you're weekend is great and that your nine month celebration was awesome!

Happy Baby Mama Day!
If you are expecting the Mrs. to be writing this post sorry...she is still in bed sleeping, as is the kid, for now.
But I figured I would take a few, so when the little guy reads this informal journal in twenty or so years he will know how cool his mom is.
This was the day you were born. Because of complications with you and your mom they had to induce labor. You can see that even though your mom is in so much pain that she couldn't even tell when she was having contractions, she doesn't let it get to her and even cracks a smile and throws up a shout out to her peeps out there.

Even though she can't make a coherent sentence or remember 5 seconds ago, because of the medicine and exhaustion, she clearly understood who you were for the five minutes, and only time for the first 36 hours of your life she was allowed to hold you.

You have not been a clingy baby always willing to play with whoever will give you the most love and attention. But when we visited family in AZ and you weren't feeling well, you made it clear who your favorite person was.

So just know that this Mother’s Day may be her first as a mom, but she is already a pro. You should know, she is your favorite thing in the whole world!!

Despite your expression in this picture you never tire of your mother’s loves. As you often try to put your cheek in front of her lips so that you can get more of these.

Even though your dad can't get you to smile when he wants you to...
your mom never has that problem.

From the husband to the wife:
I don't know why you wanted me to be the father of your children, but I know that I couldn't have gotten a better mother for mine. I love you. Happy Mother's Day.

I looked out the window.....
....and what did I see? Popcorn popping on the not apricot tree. These trees are everywhere here! Okay, I know I sound like a nature junkie, which is not normally me, but moving out of the desert is amazing! Arizona green is not Illinois green. Colors in Illinois are about 12 times brighter and therefore hold my attention like a bug to a light. Oh, the attention span of a baby. :)

Tulips Tulips Everywhere
After moving to the midwest I discovered tulips. They are quickly becoming one of my favorite flowers. They have been blooming for a couple of weeks now and when we went to the Tulip garden I was in heaven! I hope you enjoy all of the colors that we were able to see.
These are the Mans favorite

These are my favorites

And these are nobody's favorites but they're pretty

Cantigny
This Saturday was a beautiful day so we took a little trip to Cantigny. What is Cantigny you might ask? It is a mini military memorial. They have a tank park with like 10 tanks and a war diarama that walks you through WWI, WWII, Vietnam War and Desert Storm. There were also beautiful gardens that we got to walk through. Shan, it's a place that you and your kids would enjoy so come anytime to visit. :)
Thanks Katie E for the idea. I want to go back for other events like a Civil War reenactment, how funny would that be? Oh the big ideas I have for the future. :)
GMan and I on a tank

The Man and GMan on a different tank
And boy does GMan love it

Us in the tulip garden, more pictures of those to come
