Moving right along to August

I know yesterday was Halloween,
BOO!
but I have not caught up to October on this blog yet.
In MessedUpKids world is it still hot and muggy August.
So put on your swimsuit,
turn up the heater,
and set pictures of tropical beaches to flash by as your screen saver.
Ready Now?
(reminder: all photos taken with my phone, love the HTC)

The biggest news to hit our house in August was
our Little Man turned 3!
He is such a big guy.
Warning - I am about to brag about my kid
Skip to the next photo if you don't want to read it
G knows his alphabet
Can almost count to 20
(that darn 16 and 17, so confusing sometimes)
Recognizes his name written out
Knows all of his colors
even peach
I know because he tells me
a lot
that my skin is not white
it's peach
Take that for Politically Correct!
He loves to do arts
like singing, coloring and playing with play doh
Don't have a clue who he got that from
A love of football or math I would get
Art?
He must've been switched at birth
His favorite toys are still his cars/trains
followed by any kind of ball
currently his soccer ball
He is amazing at playing by himself for hours
He is extremely loving
He is Miss L's favorite person
Pretty much, he rocks
Happy t-shirtless birthday little guy!
(Only 2 months and 17 days late)
Check back at Valentine's day
We just might be celebrating,
Christmas.

Another one of our Little Guy's traits
is extreme caution
Ever since he was little
I never worried about him
wandering off
climbing furniture
jumping off furniture
touching the stove/oven
putting his fingers in the outlets
etc
So, it did not surprise us
that he wouldn't blow out his own candles
but The Man didn't mind helping

Another milestone in our house was
Little Miss turned 6 months!
If she had been born 4 days earlier
my kids birthday's would be exactly 6 months apart
We finally tried to eat real food.
As always, the first time was hilarious
More ended up on her shirt
pants,
face,
the counter,
the chair
pretty much every where
than actually made it in her mouth
She had a BLAST!

It was so delicious she wouldn't even wait for the spoon

As for her health update.
During July
Miss L stopped pooping
so we had food coming out her mouth
and nothing coming out her rear
Something wasn't right
Finally in August we got back to the GI Doc
After lots of exams and blood work
Miss L was diagnosed with
Breast milk Dismotility
(I will refer to it as BD,
because seriously who wants to type that out more than once?)
along with the reflux she already had
What BD means is that she reacts to a hormone in breast milk
that makes her bowels slow down
and eventually stop
Like hers
The only complete cure
is to stop nursing
or take laxatives everyday
until I stopped
Both options sounded lame
A partial cure
would be to give her formula
only once or twice a day
To see if that would help enough
So far we haven't seen much improvement
Bummer.
Thank goodness our kids are relatively
happy and content
even when not pooping.

Finally,
we started out kitchen remodel
we got our cabinets and floors ordered
and started painting and tearing out the floors at home
Scary project ahead!
