First, a shout out to my dad who's birthday is today! Even though it was a joyous day we still had to go to the doctor for the belated 9 month check up. Gman, as always, was an awesome kid. First, a little background. My baby has had a fever for the last 11 days. Usually by the end of the day he is around 102 degrees. We went to the doctor last Friday and they thought he was getting an ear infection and prescribed an antibiotic. His fever spiked on Monday night at 103.6 so we called the doctor Tuesday and they got us right in. It was discovered that the drugs hadn't worked yet and the ear infection was worse. Since we were coming in today they wanted to give the medicine one more night to work and if it didn't they would give us a new prescription today. This morning his fever was already at 102.7 so it obviously wasn't working.
Phew, with that background I will continue on to today. We met with the doctor and GMan was so hilarious. He smiled, clapped and made her laugh. She couldn't believe that he was sick much less that his ear infection was actually worse than yesterday. Lucky for us there were no shots today. YEAH!!!
GMan was weighed and measured,
Weight - 20.5 pounds 50th percentile
Height - 30.5 inches 95th percentile
Head - 17.75 inches 80th percentile
Weight and height percentages are the same and his head is getting larger. Go figure, he is definitely my child.
Anyway, life is fantastic. Hopefully the ear infection and the fever will go away now that we have the new medicine. Jamie, note to you, the doctor says neither are contagious so I hope that you aren't worried that we are coming to visit this weekend.
Enjoy life, because when you stop looking it's been 11 days with a sick child who doesn't act sick and he is already 9 months old. :)
