I looked out the window.....
....and what did I see? Popcorn popping on the not apricot tree. These trees are everywhere here! Okay, I know I sound like a nature junkie, which is not normally me, but moving out of the desert is amazing! Arizona green is not Illinois green. Colors in Illinois are about 12 times brighter and therefore hold my attention like a bug to a light. Oh, the attention span of a baby. :)

Tulips Tulips Everywhere
After moving to the midwest I discovered tulips. They are quickly becoming one of my favorite flowers. They have been blooming for a couple of weeks now and when we went to the Tulip garden I was in heaven! I hope you enjoy all of the colors that we were able to see.
These are the Mans favorite

These are my favorites

And these are nobody's favorites but they're pretty

Cantigny
This Saturday was a beautiful day so we took a little trip to Cantigny. What is Cantigny you might ask? It is a mini military memorial. They have a tank park with like 10 tanks and a war diarama that walks you through WWI, WWII, Vietnam War and Desert Storm. There were also beautiful gardens that we got to walk through. Shan, it's a place that you and your kids would enjoy so come anytime to visit. :)
Thanks Katie E for the idea. I want to go back for other events like a Civil War reenactment, how funny would that be? Oh the big ideas I have for the future. :)
GMan and I on a tank

The Man and GMan on a different tank
And boy does GMan love it

Us in the tulip garden, more pictures of those to come

Verizon
For all those who have T-Mobile and used to talk to us for free, we use a different cell service now. We signed up for Verizon this weekend since we weren't getting great service here. For those of you that have talked with me for a long conversation I know I have hung up on you. The Man also had to switch for work and T-Mobile FINALLY let us out of our contract so it worked out for everybody. Just wanted to send out a heads up to everyone. Also, here are the most recent pictures
The Little Man had a pen that wasn't open when we gave it to him but got it open and colored on his head. Oops

For those who have seen my kid, when he is laying down his head stays up so the men thought they would do them together

Poor Little Man
This week was a sad week for the Little Man. He got a cold which wasn't really bad, he only had a little runny nose. He then got these weird bumps all over his lower back and bum and started acting funny so I called the doctor. We went into the office on Wednesday and she found that he had an ear infection and the bumps were a viral infection on his skin called faliculitis (sp.????). She prescribed amoxicillin for the ear infection and a antibiotic cream for his skin. Thursday showed no real improvement but I wasn't expecting one after one day. Friday rolled around and my baby woke up with a 104 degree fever! I couldn't believe it. I gave him tylenol but it only went down to 102.4 so I called the doctor yet again. She thought he got yet ANOTHER virus and told me to wait until this morning. If he still had a fever they wanted us to come in. My wise doctor, sure enough last night right before bed time his fever started going down. One more dose of motrin right before bed and the kid slept all night. This morning the fever was completely gone and we are great! What a poor baby. Thank goodness for modern nedicine I could have never made it as a pioneer mother.

Happy 8 Months
Happy 8 Months to our little man!! He is getting funnier and more interactive everyday. He loves his mom but is not afraid of strangers. He is kind enough to go to the gym daycare everyday, play with their toys, spits up all over them, and then we go home. Honestly, the ladies there all LOVE him. None of them can believe how wide his eyes are and how pleasant he is all the time.
He is eating plenty of solids. His favorite food is vanilla yogurt but he is quite the fan of his fruits and veggies. He gobbles up pears and spinach like they are going out of style. Lucky me. For his birthday we fed him hamburger with peas and he ate it all gone. It is a good balance of The Man and I, his meat and my rabbit food.
Tonight after we put him in bed he just sang a song for 45 minutes. According to The Man it sounded like he was practicing his scales. GMan likes to sing himself to sleep which is sweet for a mom to hear. He does this high pitched squeal lately that is almost deafening. Most of the time he is playing he is singing/speaking. I talk back to him but his side of the conversation mostly makes me laugh.
He is also growing like a weed. If I had to guess he weighs about 20 pounds, what a sumo. We will know for sure next month.
To help getting him trained for his life as professional athlete in some sport The Little Man does his sit-ups everyday. He has stronger abs than either of his parents.
I almost forgot, he is working on getting in two teeth. We have been able to see them for weeks now but they will not break through. It makes for extremely wet shirts and bibs. We now go through 3 or 4 a day. Too bad I can't bottle the stuff and sell it.
Pictures will have to come later. I meant to take some today but we were a little busy. Maybe tomorrow.

Happy Easter
I know I am a day late but I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter. We told the Easter Bunny to pass our house until GMan is atleast old enough to know what eggs are. I did dye some eggs with my friend Katie but that's the extent of our personal celebrating.
We had the opportunity to go to Stake Conference which was actually a broadcast from Salt Lake. We got to listen to Bro Snow, Elder Oaks, and Pres Monson. They spoke to 8 states which included 61 stakes and 1 district. They shared some great messages and I was reminded about the real meaning of Easter. It's great to know that Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer and I am grateful for all that he suffered through so I can live with Him again.
After being uplifted at church we were invited over to our Katie's parents house for dinner. There was great food and great company. We had a great time visiting and wish that we could do it more.
Hope wherever you were that your Easter was fantastic. Now let's hope that spring will come!
